About Mt. Vernon, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
The city of Mt. Vernon, affectionately named after President George Washington’s home, is inviting in so many ways. The city has a special ability to embrace a simpler time, while still having plenty to offer modern visitors. It exudes small-town charm and with temperate weather and locals that offer loads of hospitality, visitors are encouraged to come back time and again.
The rolling hills of the Rockcastle River region make for some breathtaking views as fog settles in on cool spring mornings. The area is the perfect setting for outdoor adventures. Lake Linville offers visitors of all ages a variety of water activities, perfect for those warm summer days. From fishing to boating, paddle boarding, and skiing, there’s always something to do to have fun and stay cool. If you prefer your outdoor activities to take place on dry land, you’ll want to check out Camp Wildcat. It’s particularly special for the history buffs. Locals have worked tirelessly to acquire and preserve this historic land. Visitors can walk the many trails and see first-hand the trenches where Confederate soldiers camped. If you have a chance to visit in the fall, you can watch as the Laurel Home Guard hosts an annual re-enactment of the Battle of Camp Wildcat. Taking place the third weekend in October allows for the cool weather to be the perfect backdrop for this historical tribute event.
While Mt. Vernon has plenty to offer in terms of historical sites, it also boasts one of the state’s newest attractions, the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Already home to “Kentucky’s Country Music Capital” Renfro Valley Entertainment Center, since 1939, the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum is a welcome addition to an area proud of its musical traditions. The museum highlights Kentucky’s contributions to American music by honoring local artists and all they’ve done to enrich our country’s musical heritage. Whether it’s the beautiful rolling hills or the time-honored bluegrass music that calls to you, Mt. Vernon is certain not to disappoint.
