About Berea, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Berea is a city brimming with artisanal charm.  With the motto “Where Art’s Alive” it isn’t hard to see what’s really important to the citizens of this great city.  Beautifully temperate seasonal weather is the perfect backdrop to the numerous crafts festivals the city hosts each year.  There is nothing better on a cool September night than attending the Spoonbread Festival, which features a local favorite of cornbread served on a wooden spoon.

The city’s culture is as inviting as its weather and is rooted in its historic Berea College, which was the first interracial and coeducational college in the South.  The college attracts a wide variety of local, national, and international students with the opportunity to work on campus in order to receive free tuition, among other incentives.  The student body is as diverse as the arts and crafts at the local festivals and so is the town itself.  It is one of the fastest growing in the state of Kentucky and it isn’t hard to see why.  A community full of creative people means the shopping, dining, and entertainment in Berea are incredible.  Visitors can often enjoy tea and coffee on cool winter nights while they check out amazing local art in some of the shops downtown.

It’s incredible to see a town so willing to embrace progress, but also so proud of it’s past.  This place is truly welcoming.  The story of the Boone Tavern Hotel and Restaurant sums up the warmth of the people of Berea perfectly.  It was built in 1909 to house guests of Berea College.  Up until then, the president of the college and his wife had been welcoming visitors into their own home.  The college began attracting so many visitors that the president’s wife simply couldn’t keep up with them at her home, but she didn’t want to turn them away either.  Thus the Boone Tavern was born.  This story is a great metaphor for the growing town of Berea.  Whether you’re a new student stepping onto campus with the cool fall wind on your face or a retiree looking forward to selling your hand-crafted goods in a community where creativity and hard work are truly appreciated, there is certainly no better place to turn than Berea.
